You may have seen some of our kids, coaches and volunteers out there working on the trails at Jacobsburg State Park during our Teen Trail Corps Weekend, but it’s not the only crew that has been working hard at trail and community work this spring and early summer.

Students have been working at with the Trexler Trail Crews, assisting with debris removal and vegetation control.

In a more urban setting, our Community Bike Works Students have been busy helping the city of Allentown keeping their community in great shape!

Two separate events at Franklin Park have given our Lehigh Valley Composite West team the current lead in TTC hours, as student athletes Dariel, Nico, Wilber, Josh, Christian, Zayvian, Hector worked together planning their Earth day cleanup for April 25th, engaging an additional 25 volunteers in the community. These student athletes who also are part of the CBW Youth Leadership program designed a flyer for the event and went to work!

A second cleanup at the same park was organized this past Monday, working together with an additional 7 Community Bike work students and mentors cleaning up the park, paths and alleyways around the Bike Works neighborhood where the kids ride their bikes .

Next trail work day is at Jordan Creek on July 27th! This is one of our most ridden home trails, so we are happy to assist with the overgrown vegetation and removal of some recently fallen tree limbs from storms.

Keep an eye on our awesome team statistics. Currently our volunteers are our superstars! That’s you; parents and siblings, who come out and help when your students join digging dirt, raking debris, pruning back prickly bushes and piling rocks into gardens.
