As we are entering PICL Season 10, we think it’s time to highlight some of our amazing coaches who volunteer their talents & skills, dedicate their time, and often share resources with our students and families on the team.
We couldn’t do this without you, thank you for being a mentor and coach!
Coach Bob is an Easton Police Officer and mountain bike instructor for bike patrol officers. He joined as coach with his son Henry in 2024 and after getting comfortable for a season, took over the reigns as Head Coach for our teams. Thank you Bob!
We asked our coaches a few questions so we can get to know them a bit better:
When did you join the team as a coach?
2024
* Bob is currently a level 3 coach and head coach for 4 of our 5 teams
Do you only ride mountain bikes?
I love all bikes. I have 11. My favorites are classic Pennsylvania made Cannondales.
What’s your why?
Getting to see my son race.
Have you ever raced bikes?
I raced during HS and College, mostly MTB but I have also done a few cyclocross and road races. In my career I have been an IPMBA Certified Bike Officer for 17 years and an IPMBA Instructor for 10 years.
What other sports do you enjoy or even compete in?
I love baseball even though my playing days are long past me.
Tell us about your favorite trails.
My favorite place is Jacobsburg State Park. I have been riding there since I first started in the sport.

What’s your best advice for parents new to the team and league?
Don’t be afraid to reach out and make connections to people on the team and in the league. They have been doing it longer and know the ins and outs.
Also, your experience in this sport is based on what you put in. Sometimes not wanting to make that longer trip for a ride means you miss out on something special.
And lastly; what advice do yo have for our students when it comes to joining the team, perhaps unsure about racing or what to expect from being part of a MTB team?
In regards to racing, I’d say everyone should try it at some point. Yes, we are a team but when you are out there racing you are an individual. It is during this time that you can learn a lot about your personal limits and how far you can push yourself.
In regards to being on a team, I’d say that most of my child’s best closest friends have grown out of team. It has been an experience that for the both us we couldn’t be without.
I lied, this one is last: If you were an animal, which one would you be and why?
Donkey – Stubborn, Slow, Steady the donkey carries weight for others….😂
