Newly licensed Coach Bridgette Reid is a PICL and team alumni who graduated last year. She currently studies at Penn State Abington for RPTM, which stands for Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management and has decided to give back to the team and become a coach. Bridgette is our third alumni student returning as coach, proof that kids who ride bikes tend to enjoy this for a lifetime. Another day, another fantastic coach to introduce. Another day, another fantastic coach to introduce. Meet Bob Jones, the new head coach for our Lehigh Valley Lightning teams. Bob has been an IPMBA Certified Bike Officer for 17 years and an IPMBA Instructor for 10 years. He joined the team with his son Henry last season and quickly leveled up to a level 3 coach. During our off season he started the Lehigh Valley Thunder team together with a few other coaches and students who wanted to continue racing in the Mid Atlantic Super Series. We first met Aaron out riding with his daughter Addie at Jordan Creek. Once Addie was old enough to join the team and our GRiT Camp, both got hooked pretty quickly and we not only gained a strong female athlete in his daughter, but a true supporter of the GRiT program and dedicated coach who moved up to level 3 certification right at the end of his first PICL season. We worked on bike body separation, cornering, shifting when climbing, best way to dismount on either side of your bike, played the cardboard slide game for braking, had fun with bike bingo while learning some things about our bike's components and then took it to the trail. Join us for 3 days of Girls Riding Together Camp at Jordan Creek Parkway from June 25-27th! This camp is supported by alumni and current female student ambassadors. We practice skills, learn about what it's like to join the team and race mountain bikes and enjoy some girls time together in a welcoming social setting. No mountain bike experience needed. We offer loaner bikes upon request. All girls entering 5th grade in fall through grade 12 are eligible to participate. PRACTICE LOCATIONS

Most of our practice throughout the season is held at Jordan Creek Parkway, where middle and high school students of all skill levels can join us for basic skills practice, adventure riding and skilled race practice. On weekends we ride at Jordan, TREX and NOX depending on weather conditions. Come ride with us!
